See-Thru Strip Curtains

1. What are your safety and comfort needs?

Take a look at your work area. Are there sections that could be divided into specific stations?

  • Welding, sanding, heavy traffic
  • Temperature control to regulate wide fluctuation changes
  • Refrigeration containment
  • Dust control
  • Storage areas for sensitive work areas

Now look at the shapes below and see whether these can work for you. Enclosures and doors can be designed in any configuration and combination.

  • Beam Mount
  • Vertical Suspension
  • Wall Mount
  • Floor Mount
  • Automatic/Robotic

2. Sketch out your design and list the hardware components needed.

Draw the design you want, and note the components needed on the attached Order Form. Refer to the "hardware components" selection chart on the Order Form to see all components offered.

UNIVERSAL MOUNT SUB100.
14 gauge, galvanized steel. Punched strips fit over studs welded to bracket and are secured in place with cover plates and nuts. Design allows Header Mount to over-head surface inside doorway, Wall Mount over doorway, or Threaded Rod.
Call Wilson with dimensions.

SB500 SUPPORT BRACKET/CHANNEL TRACK
One person can easily install or individually replace See-Thru Strip Curtains. They are hung on 1/4" studs welded to a support bracket, which is inserted into a modular channel track. A sectionalized front bar is used to compress the strip material to the support bracket. Order exact size, but compute price to the next largest foot. Price includes strip door support bracket, sectionalized front bar, nuts, channel track and end stops. Strip Curtain Enclosure Dimensions: 8' height 17' total linear feet of enclosure

Note: Curtains are easily replaced. Loosen nuts, remove cover plate, cut and punch the strip and fit it over the studs.

3. Choose strip curtain for your specific application.

Considerations in choosing strip width, thickness and type of curtains:

A .Question: How do I determine what size strip I need?

Answer: Wilson recommends using the following guidelines in reference to strip size:

DOOR HEIGHT STRIP SIZE
Up to 8' high 6" 40 mil strip
8' to 10' 8" 80 mil strip
10' to 12' 12" 120 mil strip
12' and higher 16" 160 mil strip

B. Question: How do I determine the overlap I need?

Answer: A rule of thumb would be -- for light pedestrian or fork lift traffic, use a partial overlap. If you need protection from heavy fork lift traffic or noise and temperatures, use a full overlap.

C. Question: Do I need a ribbed or reinforced strip curtain?

Answer: You would only need the ribbed or reinforced strip if you have a high traffic area using pallet jacks, forklifts, highly abrasive materials, etc.

D. Question: What if I need strips in a low temp or food grade area?

Answer: Wilson does offer both low temp and USDA approved strip materials.

E. Question: Do the strip curtains offer light protection from welding?

Answer: Wilson has Strip Curtains available in See-Thru Amber and Spectra Orange. These materials offer the same protection from dangerous U.V. radiation and arc glares as Wilson's innovative welding curtains and screens.

4. Now, ordering your Wilson curtains is as easy as ABC.

Make three simple choices and note them on the attached Order Form:
A. Strip Curtain Enclosure Dimensions: Example: 8' height 17' total linear feet of enclosure
B. Color, Strip Size and Overlap: Example: See Thru Clear, 8" wide and .080 thick, (full overlap) Part No. S810-40
C. Mounting System: Example:

  • SB500 Support Bracket/Channel Track

5. If you'd like to order extra replacement strips.

All Wilson strip curtains are also sold in roll lengths. If you need to replace your strips, it's great to have a roll around. You'll just cut the length you need and replace any number of strips. Go to the attached Order Form to order replacement rolls. Strip curtains are easily replaced. Just loosen nuts, remove cover plate, cut and punch the strip and fit it over the studs.

6. Fill out the attached Order Form .

Fill out an Order Form for each enclosure and call it in or fax it to your distributor. On each form, you'll list your hardware components, the type of curtain, and any extra replacement strip rolls if desired. Please call Wilson with any questions or to help you fill out the Order Form before submitting it to your distributor.

All Strip Curtains can be purchased by strip, yard or roll

How to size your own Auto-bay workstation

5 Easy Steps to Ordering

1. Height - Determine the overall preferred height of your curtains.

  • Ceiling Flush Mount - measurement taken from ceiling to floor
  • Suspended Units - measure total overall height to include track.

2. Width - Determine the necessary width (total linear foot measurement) of each side of your design.

  • Example - Single Curtain Unit measuring 33'; Two Curtain Unit, one measuring 12' and one measuring 26'; Three Curtain Unit, one measuring 28' and two measuring 14' each.

3. Curved Corner Sections

  • Standard curtain sections will connect at corners in a 90°angle design. A 90° Curved Corner section is available at an added cost.

4. Track Mounting Hardware - To complete your design, determine if your curtains and track system will be:

  • Flush mounted
  • Suspended from the ceiling with threaded rod or cable
  • Ends to be wall mounted

5. Pricing - Determine the total price of your system.

  • Add the widths of your curtains together and multiply by the cost which corresponds with the height of curtains shown below.

Curtains are available in 6 styles and a variety of color selections.

Curtains can be accessorized with:

  • Vinyl mesh windows for air flow management
  • Vinyl scrim panels for paint mist filter placement
  • Floor mounted tie down attachments to secure curtains from excessive movement

Curtains are warranted from defects of material and workmanship for a period of five years when used under normal work conditions.
