Laser Curtains Safety Products

Since 1957, Wilson Industries has investigated new technical developments for tomorrow's safety needs. The Laser Safety Products group is a culmination of this research, providing a collection of products for industrial and medical environments. Wilson is proud to present our line of Laz-R-Barrier Curtains, Optical Table Laz-R-Barriers and Free Standing Laz-R-Barrier Screens. Other work area products include a complete line of Laser Safety Eyewear, illuminated signs and printed warning signs. All Wilson products, which meet or exceed ANSI specifications, are designed to improve the overall working environment and help increase productivity.

Laser Beam Barriers
Wilson's Laz-R-Barrier is the ideal solution for reflected laser beam containment. Laz-R-Barrier protects against occupational eye and skin exposure from reflective laser radiation and broadband optical radiation generated by laser plume.

An assortment of specialty fabrics designed to provide protection from reflected laser beams can by fabricated into most curtain sizes and design shapes. Total enclosures, including roof, are available.

Our most popular Laz-R-Barriers are the LP-200, which provides excellent protection in a low-power laser application; the Sensor 250 light-duty barrier; Sensor 500 medium-duty barrier and the Sensor 1000 heavy-duty barrier. Appropriate protection is determined by factors including power, wavelength, beam diameter and distance from the barrier (divergence). Using the information below helps determine the appropriate barrier.

The LP-200 Barrier, with a freestanding frame, is available for immediate shipment and is an excellent solution for low power, laser maintenance applications. Contact our factory for guidance in the design and selection of other Laz-R-Barriers for your facility.

Laser Barrier curtains can be ordered with an Interlock System and Controller for added safety. The switching system prevents accidental entry and exposure to radiation. For this accessory, contact our factory for a custom curtain quotation.

Laser Work Area Accessories
In the laser work environment, safety is a must. All Wilson products are designed with this goal in mind.

Laser Beam Eyewear
Wilson Industries provides a complete line of Laser Eyewear. Whether the need is protection for visitors or peripheral personnel (Diffuse Viewing Only) or for the technicians themselves (Laminated Glass or Clear Lightweight Technology), Wilson has the solution.

Please contact our customer service department for guidance in the proper selection of Laser Safety Eyewear.

The Laz-R-Beam Stops
Our stops are designed for use on optical tables, offering protection from direct or scattered beams. Beam Stops are made of a 3" beam-absorbing matrix, encased in a heavy-gauge sheet metal box and coated with black baked enamel. Beam Stops will withstand irradiation levels of 300w/cm2 total average power of 100 watts or less. Beam Stop can be positioned as needed and can be attached to the optical table with screws.

For identification of a hazardous work area, consider Wilson’s power-activated and standard-printed Laser Safety Signage. “The Illuminator” clearly lights the entryway to a laser facility with an appropriate warning. Our “Tri-Lume” illuminated sign is a three-color light that clearly exhibits the messages “Danger,” “Caution” or “No Hazard,” as needed. Tri-Lume can be manually operated or interfaced directly to the laser for automatic control. The “Door Stop” safety device is a heavy-gauge sheet metal door handle cover, which prohibits personnel from accidentally entering an active laser area. The “Door Stop” is clearly marked with international warning graphics.

Standard paper or plastic laser warning signs are also available. Contact our customer service department for a laser safety products catalog.
